The CITD helps Californian businesses expand internationally through the State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) program.

Whether you sell directly or via distributors, B2B or B2C, a local website that is easy to engage and do business with, built to match your business strategy, is essential for your international business success.
How will the Program help you?
Benefits: Two business development websites that will help your company be found and understood in your target markets (for example China and Mexico, or Canada and Brazil). Your websites, that you will own and be your property, will be built and managed for you, as per the Statement of Work below, by IBT Online's team of international digital natives.
Statement of work:
Budget: The total cost of the California Online Global Option A is $12,000. Participating companies qualify for a reimbursable $3,000 grant from CITD upon completion, making your total cost $9,000. *Website management program included for 12 months, thereafter payable at $1,000 per annum.

Budget: The total cost of the California Online Global Option B: Multi-Market Website Localization depends upon the number of countries and the scope of work, above and beyond Option A. California Small Businesses who meet the eligibility requirements may apply to California STEP under the Individual Company Export Promotion (ICEP) program for funding support. *Website management program included for 12 months, thereafter payable at $1,000 per annum.
The Individual Company Export Promotion (ICEP) program is a sub-program of California STEP, which provides up to $3,000 to eligible California small businesses for specific export promotion related expenses, including website localization. The California small business must meet specific eligibility requirements. ICEP is a competitive application process, so not all applications will be funded. details can be found at www.californiaexport.org/icep
Eligible to participate: California small and medium-sized manufacturers and professional services providers from all regions of the state are eligible to participate. The minimum qualifications for the California Online Global Program are:
